The historic Estehkam-E Pakistan Rally is being held in Islamabad this evening to express solidarity with the president and the government.

Historic Estehkam-E Pakistan rally is being held in Islamabad this evening to express solidarity with the President Pervez Musharraf and the government. A large number of people have arrived in parade ground, Islamabad in form of processions from across the country to take part in the rally.
The PML leadership and Prime Minister will address the rally. Huge Potraits of Qaud-E-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, President Pervez Musharraf, Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, PML President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi while banners and placards have been displayed at the venue of the rally. Several caravans of thousands of people arrived in Islamabad from Lahore, Gujrat, Sargodha, Multan, Chakwal, Kasur, Rajanpur and other parts of Punjab. There is great enthusiasm among the workers of PML and other people in Lahore to take part in the rally. PML leader Monus Elahi and district Nazim Lahore Mian Amir Mehmood led a caravan of hundreds of vehicles carrying several thousands of enthusiastic people to Islamabad. A large number of people also traveled all the way from Bahawalpur, Multan, Sahiwal, Jhang, Sialkot, Okara, Saidabad, Bhakar, Gujranwala, Khushab and other parts of punjab to take part in the rally.
These processions were led by local representatives of P.M.L. and district Nazims.
The participants raised slogans in support of President Musharraf and PML leadership and the government policies while their way to Islamabad. PTV correspondents from different cities reported that these processions were warmly welcomed by the people at different places on their way.

A big procession from Jehlum led by federal minister Chaudhry Shahbaz Hussain district Nazim Jehlum Chaudhry Farrukh Altaf arrived in Islamabad. Chaudhry Shahbaz Hussain told Pakistan television that people in large numbers joined the procession at different placed on the route. He said the rally is a demonstration of full confidence in President Pervez Musharraf and the government policies.

A caravan of 85 buses led by city and district Nazims Multan left Multan for Islamabad last night. Speaking to PTV before departure, they said the rally is aimed at demonstrating that the people have complete trust in the internal and external policies of the President General Pervez Musharraf and that the majority of the people is with the government.

A big procession from Peshawar left for Islamabad this morning to join the Istehkam-E-Pakistan rally. The procession of 1300 vehicles was led by federal minister for political affairs and President, Pakistan Muslim League, NWFP engineer Ameer Moqam.
About twenty thousand people were included in the caravan of vehicles decorated with banners inscribed with slogans in support of President Pervez Musharraf, democratic traditions, progress and stability of Pakistan and ending negative politics from the country. Big caravans from Hangu in Kohat and Dera Ismail Khan are on way to Islamabad via Khushhal Garh. Engineer Ameer Moqam told Pakistan television that participation of such a large number of people from NWFP in the Istehkam-E-Pakistan rally depicts their full confidence in the policies of President Musharraf.
